Fran Roman
Residing In: New Delhi India
Spouse/Partner: Tom
Occupation: Elementary Ed. teacher
Children: I have two stepdaughters, Andrea who works for Ralph Lauren married to Dan, a stock broker with Morgan More…Stanley in West Palm Bch. Fl, and Carla who is a real estate agent/broker in Florida. And one very intelligent teenage grandson, Andrea's son Ryan, who constantly keeps us busy when we return to Florida for visits.

Tom and I also have adopted 8 Indian street dogs. They all had some sort of problem we nursed them through and once they made it into our house here in India we couldn't put them out in the street. We love animals, so what can I say? If my landlord would let me park a camel or elephant in the driveway I would do it in a heart beat!
Yes! Attending Reunion
Comments:

I technically didn't graduate with you all from OPRFHS. I left in the middle of my senior year and graduated from Boca Raton HS in Florida. (Does that mean I am kicked off?? Confession time! Egads.)

From there I went to Palm Bch. Community College in Boca. I also gave up my partying days and got into recovery, along with going to church, when I was 20! Had to recover from my dysfunctional family and bad habits! LOL. Had a few bad relationships (some of you might relate) but ended up meeting a nice guy in my singles group at First Baptist Church in West Palm Bch. At the time Tom had his own real estate auction business, in addition to being in Florida real estate and building construction work for over 30 years. He also is from Chicago area but the Indiana side. I think we beat the pants off his school in sports although he won't admit it.*smiles*

We got married in March 1997. Tom has an accounting degree from University of Miami (Don't you dare make fun of his football team! He and his daughter, who graduated from U of M, will have a fit!) and I finished my Elementary Ed. degree from Florida Atlantic University by the time I was 40, Magna Cum Laude! Guess I am a late bloomer but hey, at least I bloomed! I just take longer then the rest of you smart people. My word, I think I about 15 years behind the rest of my class. *grin* I am just now looking at Masters Programs on line. (My friend Kathy B. is working on her SECOND Master's while raising two kids. I really feel like a slacker.)

In 1999 we moved to India and I taught at the American school for 4 years. We have been very blessed to travel and meet some wonderful, interesting people along the way. I am equally sure I will meet more interesting, wonderful people from this site.

School Story:

Good gosh, I think they are too naughty to print here!! Lots of parties and lots of wild times. I don't regret it at all because it got me to where I am today. But I'm sure glad I have matured a bit in the process and am not living in the past. Still have a long way to go but have made progress and that is what counts.

Last year I got a chance to see my old house and stomping grounds after many years. So many memories..good, bad and ugly but so many laughs when I shared the stories with my husband. Oak Park was not a bad place to grow up! Hey, after living in India I have seen so much worse. We have a lot to be grateful for.

I am looking forward to reconnecting with some of you after all these years. Can't say I will make the reunion since it is a long trip but who knows what God has in store? Many blessings to all of you that remember me.. and to any new friends I pick up along the way from here!

Since many of us are around the world here is a clock to keep up with the different time zones!
