It was so wonderful to see that many of us went into the teaching profession! It was heartwarming to read the testimonies of class members that had great memories of a High School teacher, even after many years. That really makes teaching worthwhile, to know a teacher touched a life so deeply!

I also want to say a big Thanks to all of you that served time in the military/government! I am not making a statement on war pro or con (so please don't get upset with me) but rather want people that sacrificed something to know they are appreciated!

Does anyone remember/know where Nicki Ivanhoff is? I don't even remember if she went to oprf, but she went to Mann Elementary and she lived on the 1100 block of N. Kenilworth. She had 3 brothers, Victor, Georgie, Ray and an older sister named Poppy. We were great friends, but then it seems like she dropped of the face of the earth. I heard rumors years ago that she moved to California and another rumor was that she was deceased.

I remember getting an index card with my class rank on it and it was my rank out of 1057, I think. That was in April 1978, and then the actual number of graduates was different because some of our class had graduated early and some juniors graduated with us. But it was definitely over 1000 - that number that is so hard for many people to believe.

Does anyone remember Gary Wenzel hanging upside down from a straightjacket in the Student Center? That was really an interesting day. Don't know his whereabouts but wondered if anyone knows where he is (I think he's still in Illinois). Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion--hope the turnout is good (and we can recognize people!!).

HI OPRFHS classmates!!!!!!!! I sure wish I could attend the reunion but I am too far away and have too many kids to think about. I would absolutely LOVE to see you again, I think very fondly of my days in Oak Park/River Forest. I graduated from Mercer Island High School, a high school in the Seattle area and the people there were very unkind to others, snobbish and clique-ish. I unfortunately was one of the scapegoats they preyed upon. I never noticed that kind of behavior when I was going to school in Illinois. I had alot of friends and everyone seemed to be nice to me. Thank-you ALL for that!! I hope you all have a wonderful time at the reunion. ~Cindy

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone that has sent in pictures. I am hoping we get a few more before October 1st. So keep sending them.
I would like to know how many will be staying at Holiday Inn. If you are staying there we are supposed to be able to use the shuttle that runs back and forth to The Barn.
Also,remember to please spread the word to everyone you are still in touch with including classes 1977 and 1979, we are not doing any mailings. Let them know about this website and they can sign in here and talk with everyone, post pictures, etc.

Thanks for everyone's help. I hope we have a really great turn out!

Traci, Alex,Pam and anyone else that helped to plan the Party.
Everything that was planed for the weekend was soooooo much fun. The Barn was such a great place to have the party. Everyone had a chance to dance, chat and laugh. Great fun for everyone.
Any plans for a recap party. Thats always a ton of fun.Can we post something on the web for all of us to meet once a month(like the first thursday of every month ) at the same place. Now I know were old this is what our parents do. Ok Have to hop again had a great time thanks for all your work

What a great reunion! We all had a great time and really appreciate all the hard work you all did planning the party - as well as maintaining this website.

Since I posted pictures, I've received a ton of messages from people about the party, and the consensus is that this may have been the best reunion yet.

OK -- a great big thank you to everyone who helped put this reunion together -- GREAT time! Now if you all thought you were addicted to this site before the reunion -- you'll never get off. All the pictures, birthday list etc., we'll all be visiting often. Since I came to the reunion without camera in hand it is great to be able to see all the photos!
